From making lighting connections in Auroville Caves at Puducherry to making wiring connections in water purification project in Uttarakhand and making secure wiring connections by industrial machine builders, WAGO 221 has proven its utility in all kinds of applications.
Alok Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, WAGO Pvt Ltd
Headquartered in Minden, Germany, WAGO is a global major in the field of spring pressure electrical interconnect and automation solutions. Along with other cutting-edge technology solutions in WAGO electrical interconnection, automation and interface electronic portfolio, the company would showcase one of its kind, proven and perfected WAGO 221 Series Compact Splicing Connectors during ELECRAMA 2018. “The landmark in wiring connection technology, 221 installation connectors are ideal for making safe, fast and easy connections as against connecting wires using insulation tapes,” informs Alok Kishore, Chief Executive Officer, WAGO Pvt Ltd.
Due to their extremely small dimensions, WAGO Compact Splicing Connectors are ideal for space-restricted applications. Installation is made much easier, while providing additional freedom for future expansions.
The transparent housing is another highlight. Now, one can clearly see if the wires are connected properly and stripped to the correct length. Furthermore, two easily accessible test ports, one in the conductor entry direction and one opposite of this, simplify testing — even when installed.
These new splicing connectors are also easier to use. Wire connections can now be made without using any tool and noticeably less force.
Ratings up to 32 A/450 V and 105-degree C maximum continuous operating temperature allow the 221 Series Splicing Connectors to be used at ambient temperatures up to 85-degree C (T85), making them ideal for small and large loads. Furthermore, approvals like ENEC or UL allow them to be used in worldwide applications.
In addition to the product features, WAGO 221, winner of multiple awards for product design and application, contributes to productivity enhancement and cost saving in electrical installations. At a construction on-site test conducted in Brazil where WAGO Splicing Connectors delivered 45 per cent productivity gain and cost reduction in labour and wire usage over insulation tapes in 212 apartments of 157 sq.m. each.
The interesting point about WAGO 221 is that it does not have a limited scope of target industries, says Kishore. He adds, “With all its advantages and suitability to multiple applications irrespective of type of establishment – home, factory, office, outdoors – our aim is to provide safe, easy and fast electrical installation wherever required. From making lighting connections in Auroville Caves at Puducherry to making wiring connections in water purification project in Uttarakhand and making secure wiring connections by industrial machine builders, WAGO 221 has proven its utility in all kinds of applications.”
ELECRAMA Wish List
Commenting on the objectives of participating at ELECRAMA 2018, Kishore said, “The first and the foremost aim is to make audience aware of the unique value proposition of WAGO 221 and that is easy, fast and safe electrical connections with the help of live demonstrations.” In India, in his opinion, it’s a common practice to connect wires with the use of insulation tape which is not the safest
and durable way to make wiring connections. WAGO 221 scores where safety, convenience and durability in wiring connections are of prime importance.
To display world-class technology
The speed of change and upgrade in technology is faster than ever now. While the technology user organisations are adapting themselves to these changes, WAGO commits itself to enable them with latest in the industry and partner them in their journey of operational excellence. During this edition of ELECRAMA, WAGO would showcase its interconnection and automation range of solutions that are proven and trusted worldwide, concludes Kishore.
