The power distribution system is the final stage of the energy value chain since it transports power generated at power plants to final users. An electrical power distribution system’s primary role is to supply electricity to individual customer premises. Electric power is distributed to many users at a low voltage level. Power distribution in India is more concentrated in the private sector than in transmission.

With the state power board reform, the industry has begun to get more attention and investment (SEBs). Several new initiatives and a precise regulatory framework have been launched to decrease aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses.
