Saloni Sachdeva Michael is an Energy Specialist, India Clean Energy Transition at the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), specialising in advancing India’s clean energy transition through policy, technology, and financial strategies. Her focus areas include renewable energy deployment, critical mineral supply chains, and domestic carbon markets. She has collaborated with national and state-level organisations, energy departments, distribution companies, and think tanks to gain insights into the Indian power sector. Saloni, a German Chancellor Fellow with expertise in circular decarbonisation, holds a Master’s degree in renewable energy engineering and management from the TERI School of Advanced Studies and has an electrical engineering background. She has over eight years of experience in the power sector and has worked with the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF) to promote renewable energy and energy access in India.
