Expanding EZ Charge network fuels sustainable mobility growth across India, aiding the country’s e-mobility vision.

Tata Power, one of India’s leading integrated power companies and a provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, has become the first EV charging provider to power 10 crore (100 million) green kilometers across public, semi-public, bus/fleet, and home charger segments in India. This milestone highlights Tata Power’s significant role in promoting sustainable mobility solutions nationwide. India’s vision for sustainable transportation and the government’s push for e-mobility through schemes such as FAME and the National Electric Mobility Mission aim to achieve 30 percent electric vehicle sales by 2030.

Recognising the importance of robust EV charging infrastructure in this transition, Tata Power has expanded its network, known as EZ Charge (read “easy”), to include over 86,000 home chargers, more than 5,300 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points, and over 850 bus charging stations in 530 cities and towns. These chargers have been strategically placed at various accessible locations such as highways, hotels, malls, hospitals, offices, and residential complexes.

This concerted effort has driven the exponential growth of electric mobility in India. According to industry estimates, India is expected to reach annual sales of 1 crore electric vehicles by 2030. Tata Power, with its extensive presence across the country, is at the forefront of this transformative journey. To meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, Tata Power provides tech-enabled customer-centric solutions such as the RFID card, which allows EV users to tap, charge, and make wireless payments.

Tata Power’s commitment to zero-emission mobility earned it the prestigious “Shoonya Infrastructure Champion” accolade during the 2nd Annual Shoonya Forum in New Delhi. The Shoonya – Zero Pollution Mobility campaign, launched in 2021 by NITI Aayog, has fostered essential collaborations with MyGov, the Government of India’s citizen engagement platform, and approximately 200 industry partners. These partnerships, which include e-commerce and food delivery firms, ride-hailing services, vehicle manufacturers, fleet aggregators, infrastructure providers, and financiers, are shaping the landscape of cleaner mobility within the EV ecosystem.
