MNRE introduces a 5 GWh production facility in Bidadi

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has opened a battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Bidadi, Bengaluru, with an additional ₹54 billion in viability gap funding for 30 GWh capacity.

The MNRE has announced an additional ₹54 billion in viability gap funding for 30 GWh of BESS capacity, in addition to the existing ₹37 billion, which has supported 13.2 GWh of projects so far. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 5 GWh.
