The device offers precise direct current measurement of up to 650 A via a shunt, accommodating a wide DC voltage range from 150 V to 1000 V.
EMpro DC energy meter by Phoenix Contact for direct installation in E-mobility charging stations provides the measurement data records with a timestamp. Its loading process data and digital signature enable the billing of charging sessions in accordance with the legal requirements. Furthermore, all charging sessions are permanently stored in the internal data storage of the DC energy meter.
This energy meter is installed on the DC side and is compatible with most of the DC chargers on the market, with a wide voltage and current measuring range. The cable loss compensation function only considers the energy provided to the vehicle battery, removing the losses due to the cable resistance. Data transmitted to the controller is signed to guarantee data authenticity.
The advantages
The device offers precise direct current measurement of up to 650 A via a shunt, accommodating a wide DC voltage range from 150 V to 1000 V. It features a dot matrix display with 7.2 digits, ensuring clear and detailed readings, and maintains high accuracy with a class B rating (1% as per EN 50470-3). Communication is facilitated through an RS-485 interface with protocol support. Its integrated heat sink–busbar combination allows for reliable operation over an extended temperature range, making it suitable for all DC applications, with ambient operating temperatures from –40°C to +80°C.
