India’s NTPC to boost Saudi power sector

Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NTPC to expand cooperation and exchange technical expertise in the power sector.
Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NTPC, aiming to expand cooperation and exchange technical expertise in the power sector. The MoU involves collaboration in power plant operation, maintenance, modernisation, procurement, engineering services, project management, and research and development of modern energy technologies. As part of the agreement a joint venture will be established to offer power plant services in the Middle East, exchange expertise and invest in new power projects. The step comes as part of SEC’s efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and leverage global experiences to support the development of the Kingdom’s power sector.
The agreement was signed by SEC Executive Vice President of Generation Eng. Abdulrahman AlRehaimi and NTPC General Manager and Head of International Business Development Dr. Jatinder Singh Chandok in the presence of senior officials of KSA including Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs Eng. Nasser Al-Qahtani, SEC CEO Eng. Khalid AlGhamdi and Indian Ambassador Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan at the Ministry of Energy headquarters in Riyadh.We use cookies to personalize your experience.
