Fuji Electric has engineered a Frenic Solar Pump Controller that addresses the evolving needs of the agriculture sector, where solar pumps are used under diverse field conditions. With installations across regions, our solutions are designed to maximise energy utilisation from solar PV panels through advanced Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Optimal Operating Point Calculation. These functions ensure that the pumps consistently deliver water output even under fluctuating irradiance and temperature conditions, which makes them highly adaptable for farmers relying on renewable energy sources.
We have been steadily expanding our solar pump inverter lineup in India to meet the rising demand for higher-capacity and more reliable renewable pumping solutions. Building on the success of the FRENIC-Mini, designed for smaller pumps, the company recently introduced the FRENIC-Ace. This new model supports larger pump capacities and offers advanced control for more demanding irrigation needs. Apart from this, we have developed dedicated Water Drives FRENIC-AQUA with capacities ranging from 0.75 kW up to 710 kW. It integrates features such as built-in EMC filters, DC reactors and energy-saving functions. These innovations ensure broader coverage across small, medium and large pumping applications.

Our inverters now come equipped with True Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and Optimal Operating Point Calculation that ensures maximum energy harvest from solar panels even under changing irradiance and temperature. Functions like sudden irradiance change detection, dry pump protection and tank level monitoring safeguard pumps from damage and reduce downtime.
On the software and control side, features such as two sets of PID gains enable the system to respond flexibly to varying conditions. The low power function further alerts users to issues like dust accumulation on panels. We have also introduced remote monitoring through GSM/GPRS connectivity, which enables real-time tracking of performance, water flow and electrical parameters from a mobile or computer.
