Union Minister Bhupender Yadav flags off REC’s Mobile Medical Unit for rural healthcare in Rajasthan

Rajasthan State Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Science & Technology Sanjay Sharma attended the ceremony in which REC Limited has allocated ₹5.71 crore to support the Indian Red Cross Society in operating 5 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) for three years, aiming to provide quality healthcare to remote communities in Rajasthan.

In line with its mission to make quality healthcare accessible to the remotest communities, REC Limited has extended support of ₹5.71 crore under its CSR initiatives to the Indian Red Cross Society, Alwar, for the operation of five Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) over a period of three years.

Equipped with GPS-enabled tracking systems, these MMUs will bring essential healthcare services closer to communities across the Alwar, Bhartari, and Behror-Kotpuli districts, covering some of the most underserved and tribal areas of Rajasthan. The initiative is expected to benefit over 10,000 people every month, offering free medical consultations, treatment, medicines, and preventive healthcare awareness.

The MMUs were flagged off on October 5, 2025, by Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and Sanjay Sharma, Minister of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and Science & Technology, Government of Rajasthan.

The ceremony was attended by the REC CSR team and M. L. Meena, GM & HoD, along with senior dignitaries from the district administration and the Indian Red Cross Society.
