Kusam-Meco unveils advanced technology at affordable prices

We wish to introduce the new products to the Indian market so that the users benefit from the latest technology in their respective field.

Kusam-Meco, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company, introduced and pioneered the use of Digital Multimeters and Clamp meters in the Indian industry. Kusam-Meco continues to introduce new products with unique features and protection to meet current market demand and safety to cater customers’ diverse applications. At the forthcoming ELECRAMA 2018, Kusam-Meco plans to introduce the latest state-of-the-art technology in introducing new products.

“We will introduce intrinsically safe true RMS Digital Multimeter Model KM 822sEX which is suitable for use in mines, oil and gas industries, petrochemicals industries, and in chemical factories where any spark can ignite and cause explosions in the factory,” informs Chandmal Goliya, Director, Kusam Electrical Industries Ltd.

The newly launched Multimeter conforms to various international specifications IEC SANS 600790:2000 and IEC SANS 60079-11:1999, which are specifications for electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres. In addition, it has all Multimeter functions with USB interface and has Transient Protection of 12 kV (1.2/50 ms surge). It also conforms to category IV 1000 V AC and DC.

Another new product with the latest technology is the Battery Quality Analyser Model KM 900. It is a single, quick testing total battery quality analysis solution. According to Goliya, it is a super tool for UPS battery field management. It can measure impedance, voltage, temperature, current and capacity measurements (simultaneously or independently). It is also equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and has date logging facility.

Unique features of RMS Digital Multimeter(Model KM 822sEX)
There are many features of intrinsically safe RMS Digital Multimeter Model KM 822sEX. The intrinsically safe ex rating is Ex ib I/IIC T6. They are suitable for use in Zone 1 hazardous area. Group I (coal mines) underground and Group II (surface).In addition, the special features include a polycarbonate casing which has self-extinguishing properties.

The instrument has Transient Protection:12 kV (1.2/50 ms surge). It has backlit display and a beep-jack audible and visible input warning. It also meets various EMC specifications. It can measure AC voltage, AC and AC + DC current, DC current, resistance (ohms), line level frequency, capacitance, DC voltage, logic level frequency and duty cycle, diode tester, crest mode (instantaneous peak hold), audible continuity tester etc.

Unique features of Battery Quality Analyser (Model KM 900 series)
The Battery Quality Analyser Model KM 900 series gives high performance battery quality analyser data logger with trend analysis. It has capacity of 7.5 million data to be stored in the internal SD card.

The Battery Quality Analyser is designed for measuring the internal resistance, open-circuit voltage, and terminal temperature of secondary batteries, including lead storage cells (lead -acid batteries), nickel-cadmium batteries, lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries.

AC four-terminal method to measure the internal resistance by eliminating lead resistance and contact resistance to get the accurate results. Multiple display to show the internal resistance, voltage and temperature or voltage, current and temperature of the battery simultaneously.

It has 99 sets of composite comparator function, which can be set at resistance and voltage values to get the reliable detection of battery deterioration. Clamp adaptor for DC current or AC current measurements.

Target markets
The target market for RMS Digital Multimeter (Model KM 822s EX) will be coal mines, other mines like copper and zinc mines, lignite mines, iron ore mines, chemical factories, petrochemical plants, oil and gas installations, and refineries, informs Goliya. He adds, “The markets for battery quality analyser are the manufacturers and users of lead acid batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries.”

Future products
Kusam-Meco is exploring the possibilities of adding new products suitable for power industry such as cable fault locators, CT/PT analysers, relay test sets, etc. The company would also expand the present range of gas detectors, high voltage insulation resistance testers and other related products, informs Goliya.
