Thermo Cables eyeing competitive edge with new E-beam curing process

Continuing with our strength in manufacturing of speciality cables, we have recently installed electron beam irradiated curing process.
Srinivasa Rao Nagula, President – Marketing at Thermo Cables Ltd

Thermo Cables Ltd, a part of Thermo Group, is one of the leading manufacturers of instrumentation cables, power and control cables, thermocouple extension/compensating cables, fire resistant cables, foundation fieldbus cables, high temperature cables, wind power cables, CRD and trailing cables, HO7RNF – heavy-duty rubber cables, solar photovoltaic cables, automation and robotic cables, telephone cables, co-axial cables, super flexible battery cables and marine cables.

Keeping pace with technological advancement, recently the company has enhanced its manufacturing strength. Highlighting the same, Srinivasa Rao Nagula, President – Marketing at Thermo Cables Ltd said, “Thermo Cables always adapts and moves with technology upgradation. Continuing with our strength in manufacturing of speciality cables, we have recently installed electron beam irradiated curing process and also added XLPO and rubber compound to our existing PVC compounding facility. This will give an edge over our competitors.”

Advantages of E-beam curing process
Today cables are manufactured with precision meeting various national and international standards as these are used for very critical applications. Nagula explains the advantages of E-beam curing process over other curing processes as follows:
• Improves electro-mechanical properties of the cable.
• Extended life of the product.
• Does not require using additives nor does it generate hazardous chemical by-products.
• Energy efficient.
• Precise control and the degree of cross linking.
• Suitable for polymers which are difficult to crosslink chemically.

Target markets
These cables will open up the opportunities for us in defence, shipbuilding and railways apart from our existence in solar and wind sectors, informs Nagula.

ELECRAMA Wish List
Revealing the company’s wish list at ELECRAMA 2018, Nagula said, “We are expecting key decision makers visiting ELECRAMA and it would be a great opportunity to showcase our products and offer solutions to customers’ requirement.”
