LED Expo Mumbai powers the next wave of modernisation amid record setting footfall

LED Expo Mumbai organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India attracted a whopping 12,878 visitors from the architecture, design and LED and the lighting industry from 299 Indian cities and 18 countries, registering a visitor growth of 16 percent.
The 29th edition of the LED Expo Mumbai – India’s only exhibition covering the value chain of the LED industry, attracted a whopping 12,878 visitors from the architecture, design and LED and the lighting industry from 299 Indian cities and 18 countries, registering a visitor growth of 16 percent. The expo recorded 98 percent visitor satisfaction for finding out product innovations and quality. Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the show floor drew attention from segments like lighting, electronics, architecture and interior design, project management companies, real estate, energy service companies and others. With 233 exhibitors, the expo presented a multi-faceted display of emerging technologies that presents the future of the industry.
With a powerful product showcase appealing to both the lighting manufacturers as architects and interior designers, real estate professionals, the show floor was lined-up with a wide range of products including indoor-outdoor lights, architectural and decorative lights, landscape lights, commercial light, lighting and LED components, as well as accessories and raw materials. This presented a comprehensive showcase of innovations from the industry. Besides this, the expo engaged industry in its expert-led knowledge sessions which brought to spotlight key applications of lighting for beautification of public places, lighting for safety, controlling light pollution, growing focus on landscape lighting among others.
On day one, the Chief Guest – Dominic Romell, President, Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry and Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (MCHI-CREDAI) and Managing Director, Romell Group, encouraged the real-estate professionals to visit the show. Impressed by the product showcase, he further stated: “There are wonderful products here, nearly 6,000 products and I have seen about 1,000 products and these are worth watching. Every exhibitor has a different aspect of it right from nature to biomimicry. So, you have everything under one roof. These products can help add premium ratings to real estate projects and add value to flat sales.”
Speaking about the scale of business LED Expo offers, Tushar Shiwal, Manager, Talanteq Technology India, explained: “We have recently launched submersible LED light which comes with IP-68 certification, assuring water-proofing feature. We also have some utility-daily use products which include solar light. We started participating from November 2022 and have fetched our 80-90 percent customers from the LED Expo’s Mumbai and Delhi editions since then.”
A new participating exhibitor, Siddharth Lunkad, Co-founder Dinamoo opined: “We are a three-year old company, mainly focusing on outdoor lights. Specialising in street and garden poles, we have launched our architectural light in the LED Expo Mumbai. India is currently moving from cost to design, making us more relevant as we are a design-led company. We have also introduced wind and solar-powered street poles in the expo which is new in the market. We are very happy to choose LED Expo Mumbai as our first platform to exhibit our products. The response has been very good and we hope to participate in the future as well.”
Divyesh Chouhan, National Sales Manager, Prisha Illumination believed: “We specialise in designer and architectural lighting solutions. We have launched our Brun series designed for outdoor spaces, known for its sleek, modern design and energy efficiency. We regularly participate in the LED Expo. We have received very nice footfall and found experienced people and buyers visiting from various cities across India.”Pradyumna Shandilya, Director, Beacon Optronics informed: “We manufacture LED lenses for general lighting and industrial lighting segments such as medicine, stadiums, warehouses etc. All our lenses are manufactured at our facility based at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Due to the localisation, brands are open to source components locally such as housings, lenses and innovative products. At LED Expo Mumbai, we have showcased our Made-in-India LED lenses. During our every participation, LED Expo has ensured, we come across genuine buyers and a very good footfall that generates key leads and good business.”
A visitor, Ar Jhanavi Parikh, Architect, Urbannest Design Studio shared: “I have visited LED Expo Mumbai for the first time and found it really good and informative. I am impressed looking at the wide range of the products and the typology. As an architect, I am happy to see products related to smart lighting, landscape lighting and custom decorative lighting products on the show floor for both indoor and outdoor applications.”
Vijay Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Kwality Photonics and LEDChips Indus Pvt Ltd described: “The best part of LED Expo is the grand participation by the Indian manufacturers in huge numbers. The lighting industry is very demanding for factors like different colours, wavelengths, CRIs, shapes and designs, beam angle to name a few. I was pleased to find solutions for each and every requirement in some form or the other. I would say it was a great eye-opener and a very good experience.”
Sharing his experience about the extensive range of product categories, Shreyas Patil, Architect, Shreyas Patil Architects expressed: “This is my first visit to LED Expo and there are good product varieties. We tend to generally forget products available in the market. A platform like this helps us with exploring broad categories such as concealed LEDs and designer lamps. I also liked various weather-proof products displayed with excellent finishes. I feel LED Expo is a great exhibition where we can brush through a lot of innovation under one roof.”
Chayan Jain, Co-founder & Marketing Head, Swift Illumination responded: “It was a great learning experience to see a lot of insights and innovations coming up and witness products live. It is best for people from backgrounds such as architects, end-customers or anyone associated with the lighting industry.”
The next edition, of the LED Expo New Delhi, is scheduled in New Delhi from 27 – 29 November 2025 at Yashobhoomi, IICC, Dwarka, Delhi. It will be followed by the next edition of LED Expo Mumbai from 07-09 May 2026 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai.
