“Switch to electric vehicles can be a game changer”

Uday Doshi, Founder, Excelsior Engineering Solutions

The government has announced several initiatives to revive the power sector since the time it has come into power. Certain initiatives of the government have been successful, most prominent among them being UDAY scheme in the power sector, opines Uday Doshi, Founder, Excelsior Engineering Solutions. He adds, “Almost all states have good working net-metering or gross-metering schemes available for rooftop solar projects. However he obverses that the government needs to focus on strengthening the transmission network connecting various sections of power grids or else the evacuation of renewable power from ultra power parks would be a hindrance. “Discoms should be enforced to honour their commitments of PPAs and not allow them to flip on their commitments,” Doshi recommends.

Automotive: The Sunrise Sector
Excelsior Engineering Solutions is a design, engineering and system integration company in the field of solar energy. Commenting on one particular initiative that will change the game in 2017, Doshi said, “For 2017 the game changer initiative is the focus on electric vehicles.” He expects that a lot of innovative products will be brought into the market soon for charging stations, battery storage and solar hybrid for car charging. With government pushing the automotive companies to change their product line-up from traditional petrol or diesel to electric charged vehicles, several players will enter this space as it is an unexplored market with lot of potential to grow and capture huge market segment.

Excelsior’s performance
As far as the performance of the company is concerned, Excelsior Engineering Solutions claims to have performed exceptionally well during the past one year. They have provided services to over 400 MW of solar projects in a single year including executing several rooftop solar projects. Their Plant Audit & Design Engineering team has done exceptionally well. “We have added at least 20 new clients in last one year and bagged repeat orders from several regular clients,” Doshi informed.

Strategies to remain competitive
As the industry is all set for a massive rebound, companies across the spectrum have strategised their short-, mid-, and long-term plans to remain competitive. Commenting on Excelsior’s innovative strategies, Doshi said, “With our 9 specialised services focused on solar projects, we find it convenient to service a vast spectrum of clientele. With our dedicated focus, highly skilled team and quick turnaround time, we are able to provide a unique customer experience.”

Since Excelsior is focused only on one sector of renewable, it helps them to train their work force better, gather accurate market intelligence and capture a bigger project share with unique technical services.
