Addin Power Ltd provides services for solar plant design, engineering, MW projects, liasoning, and finance as well as complete EPC solution from concept to commissioning. The company has been established with the aim to be among top 10 solar power producer organisations by 2020, claims Chetankumar Chovatia, Chairman, Addin Power Ltd.

Can India achieve its 2020 renewable energy targets?
Of course the target of 175 GW by 2022 is really big one but we believe it as an achievable target at some extent. As the awareness to opt for solar energy by people or industrialist is much more necessary, government is certainly focusing on this. Simultaneously the government should also provide good infrastructure as well as financing with low interest rates so that more and more solar park could be developed. We are very much agree the target is equivalent to 20 to 25 per cent of the world’s cumulative renewable energy capacity, but still can be achieved as the government has already budgeted more than Rs 5,000 crore for renewable energy in 2016-17 and we hope that same will be continue and increase year-on-year.

To achieve this target, focus should also be given on certain aspects like infrastructure for parks such as development of access roads, land acquisition for parks, and demarcation of land areas within solar parks should be completed on priority. India’s electricity grid’s capacity should also be increased to take intermittent solar power. The grid should also have the capacity to carry power from regions where power is generated to the regions where power is needed.

How do you see your role in this changing landscape?
Addin Power Ltd itself is a solar park developer, having its own chunk of land with the capacity of approximately 1,000 plus MW. Our first target is to complete 100 MW by 2017. We are aiming to achieve at least 1.5 per cent from the government’s cumulative target by 2022. Apart from rooftop plants, we are mainly focusing in ground mounted solar power plant as well. Using best quality solar panels and latest technology, we are expecting to give the best to our clients and partners and investors. We wish to develop such projects where an investor can invest without any liaison, infrastructure and finance.

Where do you want to position your company in the solar space?
Addin Power Ltd is providing services for solar plant design, engineering, MW projects, liasoning, and finance as well as complete EPC solution from concept to commissioning. The company has been established with the aim to be among top 10 solar power producer organisations by 2020.

How would you like to strengthen your market presence?
Addin is already having its presence in various parts of country. We have 3 sales offices, 2 warehouses and own service centres. A team comprising of over 20 highly skilled and committed professionals helps the company deliver its products and services to every corner of the country. Addin is successfully running its business through channel partner model. We are our channel partners across the country. In addition, we have also developed certain marketing strategy to cover major portion of market.

What are your expansion plans?
We have already acquired our own land and developed solar parks. We are conducting certain survey in major potential parts of country to develop our business. We are also in process to build our own Solar Panel manufacturing unit as well as collaboration with other manufacturing units of solar components. Hunting the best talent from the sector, we are also planning of floating solar park without land, which improve electricity generation and unused space having maintained water level of ponds and rivers. Our focus will remain on our project with technology of micro monitoring system, auto error resolution and optimizer.

Brief us on some of the projects accomplished by you.
We have successfully integrated some of the projects in JV model such as 2 MW at Uttarakhand with IPP model, 4.5 MW at Chhattisgarh with IPP model, 200 KW commercial project at Sahibabad, 150 KW industrial project at Manesar, 100 KW commercial project and recently completed 15 KW industrial rooftop at Rajkot.
