Power surplus does not mean availability of uninterrupted power to consumers. Power should reach end users, for which we need to develop and strengthen transmission and distribution (T&D) network which is the biggest challenge as of now, observes Sanjay Bhagat, Vice President and BU Head – TLT EPC, Bajaj Electricals Ltd. “Focus on investment in T&D sector and effective development and monitoring of T&D projects will be the game changer in availability of power to consumers.”
Bajaj Electricals is one of the key players in developing T&D networks in India. With its presence from 765kV Extra High Voltage (EHV) Transmission to Low Voltage distribution up to consumer connections, Bajaj has presence in entire T&D arena. “We are committed to develop T&D network in India to pass on the benefits of excess power to the actual end users with our technical and project management skills,” informs Bhagat while speaking about the company’s contribution to the power sector transformation.
According to Bhagat with expected addition in generation capacity, there has to be corresponding addition in transmission and distribution capacity as well. “With our ambitious plans for power addition, we feel there will be many opportunities for T&D projects as well. As a prominent player in T&D sector, we expect these opportunities to generate growth in our business in coming years,” he explains about the business opportunities.
