Battrixx strengthen itself in electric 2-3 wheeler segments

Battrixx, is an advanced lithium-ion battery packs manufacturer, it is looking forward to strengthening its self in electric two- and three-wheeler segments. In the segment, these batteries are most important in domestic electric vehicle space, according to experts. The battery division of Kabra ExtrusionTechnik, Battrixx last year announced its raise up to Rs 301 crore for increasing the presence of its brand. By the end of FY24 the company aims to increasing the annual battery packs production to seven lakh.
In 2018, Kabra jointed with a European technology player and initiated to work on better lithium-ion battery packs with smart battery management systems, for electric vehicles and other energy storage application.

“Our target currently is two-wheeler space, where we are strong, and three-wheelers segment, which we will be adding in our product line-up towards the second quarter of the next (fiscal) year.”
Anand Kabra, vice-chairman and managing director of Kabra ExtrusionTechnik, told PTI. ‘The goal is to continuously strengthen the company’s positioning in these two segments.’
According to the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), EV sales are expected to reach one million units in 2022. As with more e-vehicle’s coming to Indian market, in 2021 the company had sold double of their sales in 2020, which is 2,33,971 units of two-wheeler volumes.
The expectation is to see further rise in sales of e-two and three –wheelers, after last year’s success for light commercial vehicle segment, “We expect EV industry growth is going to continue this year as well and we are positioned well to get a large part of this growth.” The EV industry and Battrixx, both are expected to rise good rise in their sales in the country.
While the four- wheelers and LCV (light commercial vehicle) is expected to take more time to reach successful sales number “We expect between 6-8 per cent will convert from the ICE (internal combustion engine) two-wheeler side to EVs, while the three-wheeler segment has already got a large conversion.”
Battrixx, with end of this fiscal year, will have an annual production of 2,50,000 units, in compare to one lakh packs at present, which is 22,000 a month. After this, the company believes to be producing seven lakh units per year by FY24.
Kabra ExtrusionTechnik has announced that the board of company approved its proposal for raising up to Rs 301 crore by mixing debt and equity through expanding its technologies. Continues spending on better R&D, its separate R&D centre will see to better investment in technology for future.
