CyanConnode deploys 2 million RF communication endpoints across India 

The company is the first and only smart metering communications provider in India reaching this landmark achievement. Also, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has won the prestigious SKOCH Award for Gold Category in the Power & Energy category, recognising the success of its smart metering project powered by CyanConnode’s communication network.

CyanConnode Pvt. Ltd., a leading provider of narrowband radio frequency (RF) smart mesh networks, is pleased to announce two significant milestones in its journey towards enhancing India’s smart metering infrastructure. CyanConnode has successfully deployed over 20 Lakh (2 million) RF communication endpoints, making it the first and only smart metering communications provider in India to reach this landmark achievement. Additionally, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has won the prestigious SKOCH Award for Gold Category in the Power & Energy category, recognising the success of its smart metering project powered by CyanConnode’s communication network. 

The deployment of over 20 Lakh communication endpoints underscores CyanConnode India’s commitment to providing reliable and scalable smart metering solutions nationwide. With successful implementations in ten states—Assam, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh—CyanConnode continues to contribute significantly to India’s energy management and digital transformation goals. This milestone reflects the company’s extensive experience and capabilities in delivering state-of-the-art smart metering technology. 

In recognition of its efforts to transform the energy sector, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) has been awarded the SKOCH Gold Award in the Power & Energy category. This award acknowledges the digital transformation of DISCOM’s commercial operations under the smart metering project, which has been powered by CyanConnode’s advanced communication network. 

The project has achieved exceptional Billing and Smart Metering Communication rates of over 99%, leading to accelerated invoicing, reduced errors, and improved customer satisfaction through timely billing. The implementation has also optimised operations, reduced carbon emissions, increased revenue, and streamlined manpower utilisation.
