IREDA, IIT Bhubaneswar forge alliance for renewable energy innovation

The collaboration aims at research, tech transfer, and startup support to boost renewable energy sector growth.
The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) took a significant step towards fostering innovation and research in the renewable energy sector by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. The MoU was inked during the 100 Cube Start-up Conclave held at IIT Bhubaneswar. The primary objectives of this collaboration are to support joint efforts in innovation and research initiatives, facilitate technology transfer, and nurture the start-up ecosystem.
The partnership between IREDA and IIT Bhubaneswar is poised to facilitate collaborative research efforts, technology transfer, and comprehensive support for the start-up ecosystem. Additionally, it will include capacity-building initiatives such as training programmes, seminars, and workshops aimed at enhancing the skills of IREDA officials.
The MoU was signed by Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, and Dr. Debi Prasad Dogra, Independent Director of IIT Bhubaneswar. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar.Speaking on the occasion, the IREDA CMD said: “This partnership with IIT Bhubaneswar marks a significant milestone in our journey towards fostering innovation and sustainable development in the renewable energy domain. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both organisations, we aim to drive impactful research initiatives and propel the growth of the renewable energy sector.”
