KSEB to collaborate with NHPC to boost Kerala’s hydro potential

The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), a state-owned company, and the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase Kerala’s hydroelectric potential.
the Ministry of Power announced on Saturday. As part of the arrangement, NHPC will serve as KSEB’s owner’s engineer, managing the evaluation of current projects as well as those that are in the works. With this MoU, KSEB hopes to use the substantial technical expertise and understanding of NHPC to improve the efficiency and efficacy of its hydroelectric projects. In addition to assisting the state’s shift to sustainable energy sources, the cooperation represents a shared commitment to utilising Kerala’s hydropower potential in a way that is both technologically advanced and commercially viable.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, National Hydro Power Corporation Private Limited and Kerala State Electricity Board Limited agreed that NHPC would act as KSEB’s Owner’s Engineer and consult with KSEB on the design of all current and future KSEB projects.The MoU brings NHPC and KSEB together for the most technologically and commercially feasible expedited development of Kerala’s hydropower potential as a catalyst for the transition to clean energy.
Radhakrishnan G, Director (Generation – Civil), KSEB Limited, and Rajat Gupta, Executive Director (Strategy Business Development and Consultancy), recently signed the Memorandum of Understanding.Before the signing of MoU, a brief discussion was also held with the Chairman and Managing Director of KSEB Ltd. The KSEB CMD thanked the CMD of NHPC, R.K. Vishnoi, for working with KSEB for this purpose and expressed his firm faith in NHPC’s technical prowess and expertise.
