NTPC achieves 400 billion units generation milestone

NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power generating company, surpassed the 400 Billion Units (BU) generation milestone on March 13, 2024. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the company generated 399.3 BU. As of March 13, 2023-24, NTPC’s Coal stations maintained a plant loading factor (PLF) of 77.06 percent.
Notably, on September 1, 2023, the company achieved its highest ever single-day generation of 1428 MU. This remarkable performance stands as a testament to the expertise of NTPC engineers, as well as the efficacy of the company’s operation and maintenance practices. Furthermore, this achievement underscores NTPC’s unwavering commitment to delivering reliable and affordable power to the nation.
Despite having an installed capacity of 75.4 GW, NTPC is currently constructing 18 GW capacity, including 5 GW in renewables. The company is determined to reach a renewable energy capacity of 60 GW by 2032. In addition to power generation, NTPC has diversified its business into various new areas, such as e-mobility, Waste-to-Energy, and Green Hydrogen solutions. Moreover, it has actively participated in bidding for power distribution in Union Territories.
