NTPC, a state-owned power company, has announced the permanent discontinuation of its 440-MW Stage-I of the Tanda thermal project in Uttar Pradesh from September 1, marking a testament to BHEL’s engineering excellence.

These pioneering units from NTPC provided reliable power to millions, contributing thousands of GWh to the national grid, showcasing their operational excellence and engineering strength of India’s thermal fleet.The NTPC Tanda Thermal Power Station, Stage-I, which has four 110 MW units, will be permanently discontinued from September 1, 2025, following approval from the competent authority and a communication to the Central Electricity Authority.
