NTPC may also seek funding from international agencies such as the World Bank and JICA. The DPR must include all necessary studies and analyses required by these agencies.

Last year, NTPC Green Energy invited bids for developing pumped hydro storage projects with a total capacity of up to 2,000 MW across India. Additionally, the Central Electricity Authority has approved two new pumped hydro projects in Maharashtra, totalling 2,500 MW.
