NTPC, is taking a significant leap in the nation’s energy transition journey by venturing into the atomic power sector. Through its collaboration with ASHVINI (Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Limited) and the formation of NPUNL (Nuclear Power Utility of India Limited), NTPC is targeting the development of 2 GW of nuclear energy capacity by 2032. This strategic move marks a transformative step towards diversifying India’s energy mix with cleaner and more sustainable sources.

As the first Indian energy company to declare its Energy Compact goals at the United Nations High-Level Dialogue on Energy (UN HLDE), NTPC has showcased its firm commitment to sustainable development and climate action. With a clear roadmap to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2070, NTPC is aligning its long-term vision with national and global climate goals. The inclusion of nuclear energy, a reliable and low-carbon energy source, plays a critical role in achieving these ambitious targets.
