Over 30 projects inaugurated, signaling transformative growth also, Telangana’s energy, sustainability, and connectivity sectors get a major boost.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for multiple developmental projects in the power, rail, and road sectors in Adilabad, Telangana. The total worth of these projects exceeds ₹ 56,000 crores.

The Prime Minister highlighted the inauguration of the 800 MW capacity NTPC Unit 2, stating that it will enhance Telangana’s electricity generation capacity. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasised that Adilabad is witnessing significant development not only for Telangana but for the entire nation. Over 30 projects, amounting to more than ₹ 56,000 crores, are either being inaugurated or having their foundation stones laid on Monday. These projects encompass various aspects such as energy, environmental sustainability, and road connectivity in the state.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister Revantha Reddy, and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy.

Union Minister for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R. K. Singh, also addressed the gathering remotely from the Power Grid substation in Maharani Bagh, New Delhi. He lauded the remarkable progress made in the power sector, noting the substantial increase in generation capacity and the improvement in power supply across rural and urban areas.

Singh commended the contributions of Power Grid employees and stakeholders, underscoring their role in achieving this growth. He emphasised the symbiotic relationship between power sector development and economic growth, asserting that strengthening the power sector has been instrumental in facilitating India’s rapid progress.

In addressing the viability of the power sector, Singh highlighted significant reductions in AT&C losses and legacy dues, alongside timely subsidy payments to DISCOMS. He affirmed India’s commitment to sustained growth, stressing the necessity for continued capacity expansion and reforms in the power sector in the years ahead.

The PM reiterated the importance of state-led development in advancing the nation. A thriving economy fosters trust and attracts investment, benefiting states as well. The Prime Minister cited India’s impressive growth rate, which at 8.4 percent in the last quarter, positions it as a global frontrunner. He expressed optimism that with such momentum, India could soon become the world’s third-largest economy, consequently bolstering Telangana’s economy.
