At ELECRAMA 2023, Sterlite Power presents innovative power transmission project options.
At the 15th edition of ELECRAMA 2023, Sterlite Power, a power transmission developer and solutions provider in Brazil and India, unveiled two cutting-edge technologies to deliver dependable, secure, and highly efficient power transmission solutions: the 96 Fiber OPGW and the ACCC ULS Brahmaputra High Performance Conductor. With these technologies, the transmission sector will be able to go through more digitization while experiencing lower transmission losses.
The 96 Fiber Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) is a unique, higher-fiber-count OPGW that is being developed to improve India’s power transmission infrastructure and make it more capable of handling rising data traffic and electricity demand in the future. An advanced OPGW technology with a high fibre count is crucial for India because to its benefits of increased bandwidth and faster data transmission rates. This OPGW design can be installed on towers with voltages of 132, 220, and 400 kV.
The ACCC-ULS Brahmaputra High Performance Conductor (HPC) is a first-of-its-kind high performance conductor that was created to get through the obstacles that come during the crossing of the River Brahmaputra, one of the longest rivers in India. This is a one-of-a-kind conductor that combines OPGW with a special earth wire. The special construction blends an ultra-low-sag composite core with an aluminium alloy to increase the effectiveness, capacity, dependability, and resilience of the crucial river crossing span.
Manish Agarwal, Director & CEO, India Transmission, Sterlite Power, said, “India’s largest gathering for the power and electrical industry, ELECRAMA, provides us the perfect platform to showcase our innovative solutions and capabilities that are helping transform India’s transmission industry and improve the overall reliability and efficiency of India’s national grid. We continue to stay committed to nation-building and improve access to electricity in remote and underserved areas of the country.”
