Tata Power-DDL signs MoU with NPTI for conducting capacity building training

The objective of the MoU is to provide hands-on industry exposure to the students which will further help them to be groomed with the skill and confidence for handling job roles in a typical Power Distribution company.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an organisation under the Ministry of Power, Government of India for conducting capacity building training for personnel in the power distribution sector and for students pursuing courses on the emerging trends and technologies in the sector.

The MoU was signed by Subir Verma, Chief HR, IR and HS, Tata Power-DDL and Tripta Thakur, Director General, NPTI in the presence of senior officials from both the organisations at the NPTI Headquarters in Faridabad.  

The main objective of the MoU is to provide hands-on industry exposure to the students which will further help them to be well-groomed with the skill and confidence for handling job roles in a typical Power Distribution company. Apart from conducting combined programs including customised onsite programs and calendar training programs, NPTI and Tata Power-DDL will carry out joint research activities in the fields of Smart Grid Technologies, Electric Vehicle and Charging Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Grid Integration Technologies and Cyber Security etc.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Subir Verma, Chief HR, IR and HS, Tata Power-DDL said, “Tata Power-DDL is committed to shaping the talent landscape in the power sector by sharing valuable experience and knowledge. The MoU signed with NPTI is aligned with the same focus and reflects our commitment to help young talent achieve their potential and the industry to close the gap on the skilled talent.” 

The association will be mutually beneficial with TPDDL’s leadership attending conclaves, technology summits, organised by NPTI and TPDDL will invite Distinguished Faculty members of NPTI for conducting some of the Training Sessions. The MoU will also see Tata Power-DDL and NPTI will take-up joint research and development (R&D) projects and organise workshops collaboratively.

Tata Power-DDL will help NPTI to develop and deliver exclusive training and teaching modules on various topics aligned to the course content pertaining to Power Distribution for the courses offered by NPTI. Moreover, Tata Power-DDL will conduct detailed online training programs exclusively for the students of NPTI spanning 4-5 days on niche topics pertaining to power distribution as per the need of the college curriculum to complement the courses offered by NPTI.
