Wärtsilä drives sustainability in Energy and Marine markets

Venkatesh R, MD Wärtsilä India was addressing a session on “Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality” at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit recently.

Wärtsilä, a global leader in innovative technologies and lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets, is delighted to announce the participation of Venkatesh R, Managing Director of Wärtsilä India, as a key speaker in the “Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality” session at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit – Finland Country Session, which took place on January 11, 2024.

The session, titled “Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality: What can Finland and Gujarat accomplish together to meet those targets?” highlighted the strong bilateral trade ties between Finland and Gujarat, exploring potential avenues for collaboration to achieve ambitious sustainability goals. In 2023, Finland unveiled a specific country strategy for India called DESI (Digitalization, Education, Sustainability, and Innovation). This strategy encapsulates all the qualities for which Finland is renowned worldwide and positions Gujarat as a crucial player in realising Finland’s objectives. Gujarat takes the lead in energy transition, carbon neutrality, and sustainable development in India, playing a pivotal role in Finland’s country strategy.

The session provided a platform for Venkatesh R to share insights on how Wärtsilä’s expertise aligns with the shared goals of Finland and Gujarat in sustainability and carbon neutrality. It emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges and leveraging each other’s strengths for mutual benefit.
