The car is adorned with distinctive five-spoke alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tires, each wheel cap proudly displaying the iconic Mi logo. Notably, the side-view mirror incorporates a camera, reminiscent of the innovative design seen in Tesla cars.
Lei Jun has emphasised Xiaomi’s dedication to incorporating cutting-edge technology into the new EV, drawing inspiration from advanced automotive systems such as those found in the Tesla Model S. In a series of posts, he shared intriguing details about the Xiaomi SU7, shedding light on the significance behind its nomenclature.Xiaomi has announced the hosting of its inaugural EV launch event outside China, named “Stride,” scheduled for December 28. The three-hour event, commencing at 2:00 pm Beijing time (11:30 am IST), will focus exclusively on the technological aspects of Xiaomi’s pioneering electric car. Contrary to expectations, no product releases are anticipated during the event. The company remains tight-lipped about the technical specifications of the SU7, currently undergoing trial production and slated for a domestic market release in the coming months. While pricing details remain undisclosed, Lei Jun has assured potential consumers that it will “exceed your expectations.”
There is speculation that Xiaomi may unveil multiple models, potentially including the Xiaomi SU7, Xiaomi SU7 Pro, and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, each offering distinct ranges and features. The baseline model, Xiaomi SU7, is anticipated to achieve a speed of 210 km/h, while the higher-end SU7 Max variant may boast an impressive top speed of 265 km/h. As Xiaomi ventures into the electric vehicle landscape, the industry awaits the unveiling of these innovative offerings, poised to make a lasting impact.
