The Bihar government has signed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with four energy companies to create sustainable energy projects totalling 2,357 MW with an estimated expenditure of ₹53.37 billion. Larsen & Toubro will build a 116 MW/241 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Kajra, Lakhisarai, while NTPC Green Energy Limited will build a 1,000 MW BESS. Avaada Group will build 1,000 MW of ground-mounted and floating solar projects, and Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited will build multiple floating solar and other renewable projects.
To encourage private investment, the new rules include incentives such as tax breaks, quicker permits, and project facilitation help. Bihar could meet a significant portion of its energy needs with renewables by 2030.We use cookies to personalize your experience.
