Mono-PERC: Latest tech to produce solar modules

Sova Solar Limited is one of the leading solar module manufacturers in India. The company has an annual capacity of 200MW per year on fully automatic machine with technological support and guidance from M/s Spire Corporation, M/s Team Technik, Germany, Auto well etc. Sova Solar, one of the producers of poly crystalline module, recently adopted a new technology called Mono–PERC to produce the modules. Sova Solar’s photo voltaic modules are produced with an efficiency of up to 20.08 per cent with positive tolerance of five per cent. The company makes 72 cells/ 66 cells/ 60 cells/ 54 cells/ 48 cells/ 40 cells/ 36 cell modules ranging from 5Wp to 345Wp. By using high efficiency cells, Sova Solar produces the higher watt peak modules.

The company uses p type-doping cells to manufacture the modules where poly crystalline silicon-based cells are used. After producing the modules the short circuit current (Isc), open circuit voltage (Voc), maximum power point voltage (Vmpp), maximum power point current (Impp), maximum power output (P max) are maximum in this module type. Nowadays, Sova Solar uses a new technology Mono-PERC. In this technology, efficiency of the modules is very high (up to 20.08 per cent). For this advancement, lower area of modules can produce higher output. Recently, the company has implemented dual stage EL checking. It expects that it will help in increasing the efficiency in this market. Besides this, Sova Solar introducing solar panel with maximum system voltage of 1,500 volt, which increases power density and performance of the solar PV module. It is expected to reduce the losses in DC cables, reducing capital costs, susceptibility to PID increases. It is expected that in the next five years 1,500V system would see an increased market penetration of around 95 per cent.

The company’s target is to increase the use of solar PV module in commercial and industrial sectors that have more enthusiasm for their large power bills. Also, the company has a target of electrifying the residential and rural areas, which will increase India’s power consumers’ sectors. It also has a target market in foreign countries. The company has already exported solar modules in Japan and Germany on regular basis. They are very quality-conscious countries regarding solar module implementation. Apart from this, Sova Solar has got appreciation from Afganisthan, Sri Lanka, USA and other countries. The company catered to the market of Nepal in the previous years. Besides this, discussion is going on to tie up with a Canadian company for exporting our modules in Canada.
