Expanding footprints in the solar market with best-in-class projects

The solar sector has recently seen much growth as more people are eager to learn about solar energy. The Prime Minister’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat will surely be successful. On this note, Dipen Patel, Managing Partner and Head for PV Manufacturing Division at GreenBrilliance Renewable Energy LLP says “we are certain that India will surpass all other countries in the global solar energy market.”
Can you brief us about the latest innovations?
We have introduced two items—both use TOPCon technology. The first is a bifacial PV module with M12 TOPCon Cells and a peak output of 655 watts, and the second is a bifacial PV module with M10 TOPCon Cells and a peak output of 545 watts. These are the most recent technologies that are currently available. It took more than a year to get the product ready to get from conceptualisation to visualisation to execution. And after launching it, we anticipate receiving our BIS certification in two months and our ALMM certification in roughly three months. We have invested almost ₹40 crores in capital investments to start this manufacturing line of high-efficiency PV Modules.
What are your expansion plans?
Since we are offering the best and highest quality products, our market share has increased significantly. We plan to expand to 2 gigawatts of module and cell manufacturing within the next three years. The basic customs duty and ALMM have helped us gain more market share than we had before.

How do PLI and BCD encourage business in India?
The government has helped the solar industry a lot by introducing the PLI scheme, which is basically for bigger manufacturers. It would be highly beneficial if the government also extended the PLI scheme for MSMEs like us.
We appreciate the government’s decision to implement the BCD and support local producers, and we aspire to become the market leader in solar panels. The solar industry is rising to prominence on a global scale. China currently dominates the world, but we think that India can overtake it. With the Prime Minister’s vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, we will hopefully achieve this goal.
