Sterlite Power unveils groundbreaking solutions for power transmission projects

Sterlite Power, a major power transmission developer and solutions provider in India and Brazil, recently introduced two cutting-edge technologies—96 Fiber OPGW and ACCC ULS Brahmaputra High Performance Conductor—to deliver dependable, secure, and highly efficient power transmission solutions. These innovations will allow for further digitization of the transmission industry while decreasing transmission losses.

The 96 Fiber Optical Ground Wire (OPGW): This is a particular higher fibre count OPGW (optical ground wire) developed to strengthen India’s power transmission infrastructure, which must be future-ready to accommodate rising electricity demand and data traffic. OPGW technology with a high fibre count is especially vital for India, which has emerged as the world’s largest and fastest-growing market for digital technologies and services. The ACCC-ULS Brahmaputra High Performance Conductor (HPC) is a first-of-its-kind high performance conductor designed to overcome the constraints and problems involved with the essential crossing of India’s largest river, the Brahmaputra. This is a world-first conductor that combines special earth wire and OPGW. The innovative design blends an aluminium alloy with an ultra-low sag composite core, improving the efficiency, capacity, reliability, and robustness of the key river crossing span.
