Adani Power receives LoI for 2400 MW thermal power plant in Bihar

The 3×800 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant will be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district.
Adani Power has announced that it has won a crucial project in Bihar. The company has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) to supply power to North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (SBPDCL). The 3×800 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant will be developed under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district. Adani Power secured the project followed by a bid quoting the lowest price of ₹6.075 per KWh.
The project is expected to generate employment for nearly 10,000–12,000 people, with around 3,000 jobs to be sustained once operations begin. Under the contract terms, the first unit will be commissioned within 48 months of the appointed date and the final unit within 60 months. The company expects to receive the Letter of Award (LoA) soon, following which it will sign a Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with the state utilities.We use cookies to personalize your experience.
