Manohar Lal to show India Power at BRICS energy meet

The meeting in Brazil will be held under the overarching theme “Empowering Global South Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Global Governance,” bringing together Energy Ministers from BRICS nations to deliberate on key issues shaping the global energy landscape.

Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is on an official visit to Brazil to participate in the BRICS energy meet. The meeting, being held under the overarching theme “Empowering Global South Cooperation for Inclusive and Sustainable Global Governance,” will bring together Energy Ministers from BRICS nations to deliberate on key issues shaping the global energy landscape.

During the meeting, Manohar Lal will engage in high-level discussions on crucial topics such as energy security, accessibility, affordability, and sustainability, focusing on how emerging economies can work together to build a resilient and inclusive energy future. India is poised to highlight its significant progress in the energy sector over the past decade, which includes a remarkable 90 percent increase in installed power capacity. The country will also emphasise its leadership in renewable energy development, with notable advancements in solar, wind, green hydrogen, and biofuels. Furthermore, India has made substantial strides in innovation, grid modernisation, and sustainable energy solutions, positioning itself as a global player in the clean energy transition.

The Indian delegation will underscore the nation’s strong commitment to ensuring equitable access to energy, particularly for underprivileged and rural populations.
