NTPC achieves 52,000 MW commissioned capacity

NTPC Ltd has commissioned 3rd unit of the 800 MW Kudgi super thermal power station with effect from 12 March. With this, the total capacity of Kudgi super thermal power station has gone up to 2,400 MW.
With this commissioning, the capacity of NTPC and NTPC group stands at 45,300 MW and 52,191 MW respectively.
NTPC has 20 coal based, 7 gas based, 11 solar PV, two Hydro, one wind and eight subsidiaries and joint venture power stations. The company is currently building an additional capacity of over 20,000 MW at multiple locations in the country.
NTPC is playing a major role in meeting the power needs of the country and contributing to its economic and social development contributing nearly 24 per cent of country’s generation. NTPC has a vision to be the world’s leading power company, energising India’s growth and plans to become 130GW company by 2032.
In line with Govt. of India’s thrust on renewable energy, the company is also increasing its green footprint and has already generated 912 million Units from its solar and wind stations during the year which is around 3 times its renewable generation during corresponding period of last year.
With more than 20 GW capacity under various phases of construction, NTPC is all set to continue energising India’s growth in the coming years.
