Skipper commissions new plant at Guwahati

Skipper Ltd, one of the leading manufacturers in the power transmission & distribution and polymer pipes & fittings segment, commissioned its second plant in Guwahati. The company has started commercial production from the new unit in end March. The plant will be used for manufacturing not only engineering products but also will have an exclusive unit for polymer fittings, Skipper informs.
This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is situated in Palashbari, Assam. It is spread over nearly 7.40 acres more or less of land, and caters to both the engineering and polymer fittings unit. The current capacity of the engineering products division is set to increase from 2,00,000 MTPA to 2,30,000 MTPA and the polymer division will grow from 41,000 MTPA to 48,000 MTPA.
With the setting up of this new plant in Assam, Skipper Ltd aims to support the Prime Minister’s initiative of ‘Make in India’. Currently, Skipper has three manufacturing units in Howrah for its Engineering products segment in West Bengal and five units for Polymer segment in Uluberia (Howrah), Guwahati, Sikandrabad, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
