Waaree Energies has become a major contributor to the solar revolution in Vietnam through a 60 MW ground mounted on-site solar project. The project, in association with a leading utility scale provider, will be a substantial step towards achieving the 12 GW of PV target set by the Vietnam government. With the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction contract, along with operations and maintenance, the project also marks Waaree Energies’ expansion to South East Asia. Waaree Energies will be using its high efficiency mono-crystalline panels for this project.
Being developed in KhanhHoa province of the country, the project has been approved by EVN (Vietnam Electricity) for 60 MW AC. The project is expected to generate 1,06,000 MWh per year, once
commissioned. The power generated will be used for feed-in tariff, which will further aid in adoption of solar energy in the country.
Sunil Rathi, Director – Sales and Marketing, Waaree Energies said, “Waaree Energies has been a preferred EPC player in India, and is committed towards making solar energy affordable and accessible. We plan to extend this commitment globally and are actively looking at opportunities that aid transition to solar power. We already have a pipeline of 100 MW to be executed in next six months internationally and 250 MW domestic.
“This mandate stands testament to the faith that large scale players have in Waaree Energies, nationally and internationally,” he added.
Waaree Energies has setup an international project office in Vietnam, and the work for project is in full swing. The project of this scale in Vietnam will help them achieve their 12 GW target. The project aligns with the objective, and marks our entry not only in Vietnam, but also in South East Asia.
