Under the non-binding MoU, HUDCO will provide financial assistance of Rs 1,00,000 crore over the next five years. The funds will support various housing and urban infrastructure projects across Madhya Pradesh. The collaboration aims to address urban development needs while improving the standard of living for residents through enhanced housing and civic amenities. In addition to funding, HUDCO will extend consulting services and capacity-building support to MPUDCL. MCL to invest Rs 64,900-cr in thermal power and chemical projects

Mahanadi Coalfields (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, has launched a Rs 64,900 crore investment plan spanning thermal power, renewable energy, and coal-to-chemical ventures, as part of its diversification and decarbonisation strategy. According to Chairman-cum-Managing Director Uday A. Kaole, the largest share, Rs 40,000 crore is allocated for developing a 4,000 MW thermal power plant in collaboration with Coal India and Odisha's Energy Department. In the renewables sector, MCL plans a 2,000 MW ground-mounted and floating solar plant with an investment of Rs 12,000 crore, a 500 MW pumped storage facility at Rs 5,000 crore, and a 100 MW wind power plant estimated at Rs 900 crore. Further, the company will establish a coal-to-ammonium nitrate plant with a capacity of 6,00,000 tonne annually, requiring Rs 11,782.05 crore in partnership with BCGCL and Odisha's Industries Department. MCL has already installed 52 MW of ground-mounted and 2.5 MW of rooftop solar capacity. It aims to achieve a "net zero" carbon emission target of 182 MW by FY29. These initiatives support MCL's broader transition towards sustainable energy and downstream coal-based industries.

Adani awarded Rs 36,000 crore Motilal Nagar redevelopment contract

Lodha Developers acquires land parcels for residential projects

The move is part of Lodha's strategy to tap into growing housing demand in major Indian cities.In the last financial year, the company secured 10 land parcels with a total sales potential of Rs 23,700 crore. Lodha Developers has already achieved over 90 percent of its FY26 goal of adding Rs 25,000 crore worth of new projects. Rs 21,550 crore approved for Maharashtra-MP connectivity

Bihar approved Rs 9,960-cr for Ganga Path Projects

The Bihar Cabinet has approved two major road infrastructure projects worth Rs9,960 crore for the Ganga Path projects in Munger and Bhagalpur districts, to be executed under the hybrid annuity model (HAM). This public-private partnership (PPP) model combines government support with private investment. The Cabinet has sanctioned Rs 5,119 crore for the Munger (Safiyabad)-Bariyarpur-Ghorghat-Sultanganj (42 km) stretch and Rs 4,849 crore for the Sultanganj-Bhagalpur-Sabour (40.80 km) section. The project includes construction of an alternate bypass and the Ganga Path along the river Ganga to facilitate smoother and safer travel. Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin said, The government has already announced in the assembly that HAM will be adopted for the construction of roads, bridges, and expressways. He explained that under HAM, 40 percent of the project cost is provided by the government during construction, while the private contractor funds the remaining 60 percent, which is repaid with interest over 15 years.

Century Real Estate plans Rs 9,000-cr residential projects by FY30

Rs 7,500 crore allocated for road and flyover projects across TN

Gadkari inaugurates Rs 6,350-cr highway projects in Jharkhand

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 11 National Highway projects worth Rs 6,350 crore in Jharkhand. Of these, nine projects are located in Ranchi and two in Garhwa, significantly enhancing the state's road infrastructure. In Ranchi, Gadkari inaugurated the 4.18-km Ratu Road flyover, extending from Raj Bhavan to OTC Ground. Other key launches include the Rs 1,900 crore Palma-Gumla four-lane highway, Rs 825 crore Barhi-Koderma four-lane road, and smaller projects such as those in Godda (Rs 100 crore), Giridih (Rs 20 crore), and Barahat-Tulsipur (Rs 70 crore). Additionally, an elevated corridor worth Rs 560 crore was inaugurated in the city to improve urban mobility. In Garhwa, the Minister opened a 23-km four-lane road from Shankha to Khajoori, constructed at a cost of Rs 1,130 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for a Rs 1,330 crore project to expand a 32-km stretch of NH 39 from the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border to Gumla into four lanes. These projects aim to strengthen intra-state connectivity, reduce travel time, and promote economic development across Jharkhand.

Rs 4,775 crore approved for expressway linking project in UP

L&T awarded track contract T1 of bullet train project

(NHSRCL) has announced Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as the lowest bidder for the track work package T-1 of Rs 4571.37 crore of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. Package T-1 is the third and final track installation package for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR Bullet Train) project, which spans 508.17 km, covering 12 stations. In October 2024, NHSRCL invited bids for this contract with a 2157-day (5.9-year) deadline. Furthermore, technical bids were opened in May to reveal that 3 firms have submitted bids for the contract. However, during the technical evaluation, the KEC International Rahee JV bid was rejected.

Rs 36.67-bln approved for HP road, bridge upgrade project

Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced that the Union Government has sanctioned Rs 36.67 billion for the upgrade of roads, bridges, and related infrastructure across Himachal Pradesh for 202425. The funding, part of the annual central proposal, includes key upgrades such as carriageway widening, installation of crash barriers, and bridge construction across national highways in the state. This marks a significant rise compared to the Rs 2.69 billion received in 202324, against a request of Rs 26 billion. The increased allocation follows recent discussions with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. The projects will cover approx. 1,200 km of highways across the hilly state. Major approvals include Rs 14.52 billion for the construction of a tunnel beneath Jalori Jot on NH-305, aimed at improving connectivity and boosting tourism. Another Rs 1.35 billion has been allocated for a new bridge at Brauni Nala on NH-5, replacing the one damaged during recent monsoons. Additionally, Rs 13.85 billion has been earmarked for four-laning the Kala AmbPaonta SahibDehradun corridor.

Jindal gets Odisha nod for Rs 3,600 crore steel plant

Jindal (India) has received nod from the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) of the Odisha government for setting up a greenfield steel manufacturing plant in the state. The initial phase of the project involves an investment of Rs 3,600 crore, with plans to invest Rs 15,000 crore in three phases by 2030. The approved facility will focus on producing special coated steel products and will include advanced coating facilities such as a Cold Rolling Mill (CRM), Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL), and Colour Coating Line (CCL). These units will collectively have a production capacity of 9.6 lakh tonne annually. The first phase is targeted for commissioning by 2027. In addition, Jindal India Steel Tech (JISTL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jindal (India) will work simultaneously to expand the overall capacity of the plant to 30 lakh MT per annum, in flat steel products by 2030. This major approval paves the way for long-term industrial growth in Odisha and reinforces Jindal's commitment to high-value steel manufacturing in India, the company said in a statement.

Delhi plans Rs 3,000-cr elevated corridor over Munak canal

The Delhi government is planning to construct a 20-km-long elevated road along the Munak Canal from Inderlok to Bawana in northwest Delhi to alleviate traffic congestion on the Outer Ring Road. The project, estimated at Rs 3,000 crore, will be developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD) managing funding, land clearance, and coordination. A detailed project report (DPR) is underway and expected within three months. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently held a meeting with PWD officials, Haryana counterparts, and Union agencies to push the plan forward. The Delhi government is also seeking a No Objection Certificate from the Haryana government, as the Munak Canalpart of the Western Yamuna Canal system, is currently managed by the Haryana irrigation department. Of its 102 km length, 17 km fall in Delhi. Originally built between 2003 and 2012, the canal carries over 1,000 cusecs of water daily to Delhi. The proposed corridor will link Urban Extension Road 2 (UER 2) with Delhi's road network, enhancing connectivity in the northern and western zones.

BPTP to invest Rs 3,000-cr in residential project in Gurugram

Meghalaya Power minister Abu Taher Mondal said the state government has sought financial support from the Union Ministry of Power for critical transmission projects in the state worth Rs 2,270 crore. Mondal the Rs 2,270 crore project, which has received approval from CEA, will add 760 MVA of capacity and extend transmission lines by 190 circuit kilometres (Ckt km). "The state has prepared this transmission plan, approved by the CEA. While some funding was arranged through the state government and the Ministry of DoNER, we are facing acute financial constraints," Mondal said. "We have requested the CEA to take up the matter with the Ministry of Power to ease our burden," Mondal said.
