BluPine Energy marks 740,510 MWh of renewable generation avoiding 670,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions

BluPine Energy is taking strong measures to reduce its water footprint by targeting 90% robotic cleaning deployment across all its operational solar sites.

BluPine Energy Private Limited, announced key sustainability milestones, including the generation of over 740,510 MWh of clean energy and the avoidance of approximately 673,864 tonnes of CO₂e emissions in FY 2023–24. These achievements are part of the company’s first-ever Sustainability Report, which outlines its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and sets a bold vision: achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 and Water Neutrality by 2027. Prepared in alignment with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Standards, the Sustainability Report reinforces BluPine Energy’s commitment to transparent, measurable, and purpose-driven sustainability practices.

“As a company just three years young, we are embedding sustainability into our DNA from the outset. From climate risk integration and ESG-aligned investment strategies to community upskilling and water conservation, we are creating value that is long-term, inclusive, and measurable. Our goal is to grow our operational clean energy capacity by over 3x in the next three years.” said Neerav Nanavaty, Chief Executive Officer, BluPine Energy.

Sustainability at BluPine is engineered through design, not afterthought. This report marks the beginning of a transparent feedback loop where every tonne of carbon avoided, every litre of water saved, and every person trained feeds into a larger system of accountable growth. By integrating ESG considerations into asset planning, procurement, and operations, we are building a renewable energy platform that is not only scalable but future resilient”, said Sumit Barat, Chief Sustainability Officer, BluPine Energy.

On the environmental front, BluPine Energy is taking strong measures to reduce its water footprint by targeting 90 percent robotic cleaning deployment across all its operational solar sites. As of FY24, 48 percent of these sites have already been equipped with robotic dry-cleaning systems, which help save up to 20 litres of water for each module cleaning cycle. In addition, the company has ensured that 100 percent of its operational sites are aligned with Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAPs), reflecting its compliance with stringent environmental and operational safeguards.

In terms of governance and compliance, the company reported zero incidents of bribery or data breaches during the reporting year, reinforcing its adherence to ethical conduct and data integrity. BluPine Energy also reported that women now represent 20 percent of its board, reflecting its focus on gender diversity at the leadership level. Furthermore, all relevant operations are certified under globally recognised standards, including ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety.

On the social impact front, BluPine Energy has taken a multi-pronged approach to community engagement and capacity building. The company has established five renewable energy skill development centers in Gujarat, providing specialized training to over 140 individuals in FY24. Notably, 37% of those trained were women, showcasing the company’s commitment to gender inclusion and equitable access to opportunity.

Beyond Gujarat, BluPine has also implemented multi-stakeholder community development programs across Punjab, Telangana, and Rajasthan. These programs have improved educational infrastructure, enhanced science literacy, and expanded access to clean lighting in underserved regions. Cumulatively, over 1000+ rural youth are being trained across Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka as part of BluPine’s ongoing skill development initiatives.

With a diversified portfolio of approximately 3 GW spanning solar, wind, and hybrid projects, BluPine Energy continues to play a vital role in accelerating India’s clean energy transition. Its strong ESG foundation, combined with a stakeholder-first approach, positions the company as a sustainability-driven leader in the renewable energy sector.
