Finder OPTA functions as the smart logic-brain of the Energy Pulse system. It interfaces seamlessly with Finder’s Series 7M MID-certified energy meters and Series 6M network analysers to collect and process high-resolution consumption data. Through Chain2 communication, OPTA ensures reliable integration with existing infrastructure and user devices.

It enables real-time data acquisition across machines and buildings, communicating via industrial protocols such as Modbus and MQTT. Additionally, it executes logic locally or on the cloud and customises easily using open-source platforms like CODESYS.

Energy Pulse, driven by OPTA, delivers a dynamic dashboard experience via desktop or mobile apps. It enables real-time tracking of electrical parameters, immediate anomaly detection and control actions. Historical data, up to 5 years (extendable to 10–15 years), empowers energy managers to identify trends, seasonal fluctuations, and process inefficiencies.

Energy Forecasting and Custom Alerts

Beyond monitoring, OPTA supports advanced forecasting algorithms to anticipate consumption spikes, which are crucial for effective demand-side management. With customisable alerts, the system notifies users when thresholds are exceeded, promoting proactive intervention and operational continuity.

ERP Integration and Production Insights

A standout feature of the product is its ERP integration, which enables companies to calculate the “energy fingerprint” of each product.

By interfacing OPTA with Finder’s 7M series MID-certified energy meters, users can build a highly customisable energy monitoring ecosystem. A typical integration setup connects up to 30 energy meters via Modbus RS-485, allowing for the assignment of each meter to specific machines, departments, or areas for detailed energy monitoring.

This data is essential for improving energy efficiency across production lines, reducing waste and aligning output with sustainable goals.
