In most of the small- and mid-sized industries, processes are automated by means of industrial PLC. Myth 1: Substation automation solutions are very costly as they do not justify their cost.

All major OEMs now offer such solutions mostly with the help of their authorised partners/system integrators. Such partners or system integrators are equipped with expert level knowledge and also they have reduced overheads for engineering, manufacturing and services, making solution viable both technically and economically. Also, reachability and service availability has become better.

Myth 2: Substation automation is not necessary for our scale of industry as we can manage manually.
Let us accept the fact that while the world is moving, you cannot stay back. Sooner or later you have to catch up with new technology.
