South Asia’s leading Renewable Energy Trade Expo, 40 participating countries, over 650 exhibitors, more than 1,000 delegates and estimated to attract over 25,000 visitors
  Greater Noida is all set to host the 10th edition of Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) from 7th to 9th September 2016 at the India Expo Center.
REI is a global platform where India’s green economy community including overseas participants will congregate to discuss industry trends, challenges and market insights including the Indian regulatory framework. The event aims to further upscale and mainstream the applications of renewable energy resources, showcase product launches, innovations and augment the forethought through international exhibition and conference platform.
REI 2016, the 10th anniversary of the expo will see participation from countries such as India, Japan, Switzerland, USA, Korea, Taiwan, China, Australia, Italy, Canada, Malaysia, Netherlands, Israel, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Belgium and is supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt of India (MNRE), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA), Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE)  and International collaboration through  Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF) and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
The expo will see the presence of key dignitaries including Upendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; Ashvini Kumar, Managing Director, SECI; KS Popli, CMD, IREDA; Simon Stolp, Lead Energy Specialist, World Bank; and AK Jain, CMD, Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited.
Bringing together manufacturers, EPC, and service provides, the expo will have over 650 exhibitors including companies like Lerri Solar, Adani, Skypower, Trina Solar, Tata Power, JA Solar, KRYFS, Suzlon, Solargise, Waaree, Vikram Solar, L&T, Rays Power, Canadian Solar, Sova Power, Azure Power, Delta Power, Fronius, SMA India, Huawei, Bosch, ABB India, Moser Baer, Talesun Power, Mahindra Susten, GCL, Senvion, Gamesa India, Inox Wind, DHHI, Renesola amongst others. The show will also feature country pavilions from Japan, Canada, Italy, Taiwan and China.
High expectationsCommenting on the participation, Anurag Garg, Vice President – Solar Business, Schneider Electric India said, “We will be showcasing our game-changing innovations in terms of our solar solutions as well as the energy storage power conversion chain.” Schneider Electric plans to launch the Conext SmartGen an intelligent, cloud-connected 1,500 V utility scale power conversion system, with a suite of supporting software solutions called the Power EcoSystem, including the cloud-based monitoring and control solution Conext Advisor 2.
In addition, Schneider Electric will be launching the following:A new PV Hybrid solution, developed in cooperation with DEIF: Designed for grid-tied and off-grid power generation, the PV Hybrid solution combines efficient, reliable diesel generation with clean, low-cost solar power.Conext CL-60:  A 60 kW inverter with the highest power density for the large commercial and utility scale solar market.
“At 60 kW, the new Conext CL-60 String Inverter is Schneider Electric’s most powerful inverter for commercial applications. It can turn a commercial rooftop or unused land into a profitable source of green, renewable energy,” Garg claims.
Vikram Solar, a major solar energy solutions provider specialising in high efficiency PV module manufacturing and comprehensive EPC solutions, considers REI Expo to be a major platform capable of bringing change in the growing solar industry. “As a global solar contributor, we understand the importance of bringing resources together for sharing knowledge and raising awareness. And REI Expo has become a successful platform where industry leaders, consumers, and researchers can find inspiration for growth and development,” said Ivan Saha, President and Chief Technical Officer, Vikram Solar.
Vikram Solar plans to utilise this opportunity by showcasing its products and services. The company also has plans to present its new solar tracker that can maximise solar energy generation by following the Sun. “Our R&D team will showcase another technology for the stakeholders and end consumers. It is our new Bi-Facial 60 cell N-type module ‘Eldora Duplex’ which can work at 1,500 V system voltage, doubling the normal energy generation capacity,” informed Saha.
ABB India will be showcasing a host of its products and technologies for renewable energy projects. Microgrid technology, solar pump drives, wind converters and generators, and products like the dry type transformers and variable frequency drives which minimise carbon footprint while enhancing productivity will be on display, said Subir Pal, President of Discrete Automation and Motion at ABB India.
Centrotherm Photovoltaics India Pvt Ltd that offers production solutions for the photovoltaic, semiconductor and microelectronic industries is a long time participant in the show since it was started in Pragati Maidan. This time the company will be showcasing new technology for PERC manufacturing that can increase solar cell efficiency.Hartek Power, one of India’s fastest growing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies with expertise in executing high-voltage substation turnkey and rooftop solar projects, will showcase its core strengths in solar EPC project execution and rooftop solar segment. We are sure that it (participating in REI Expo 2016) will be a rewarding experience, expressed Hartek Singh, CMD, Hartek Power.

Suzlon will be participating in the expo wherein it would be showcasing its operations, manufacturing footprint and latest products, informed Tulsi Tanti, Chairman and Managing Director, Suzlon Group.
Approximately 9.50 GW of the Group’s installation is in India which makes up for around 36 per cent of the country’s wind installations. The company has recently forayed into the solar space.
Waaree Energies plans to demonstrate few solar models which are a product of its strategic alliance with Merlin Technologies. Waaree Energies Ltd, the flagship company of Waaree Group, has solar PV module manufacturing capacity of 500 MW at its plant in near Surat, Gujarat.
And the award goes to…The trade show will also be preceded by the 2nd Renewable Energy India Awards, slated for 6th September that aims to recognise the efforts, innovation, and excellence and promote the talent in the industry. The awards will have audience of industry stalwarts competing under various categories from both manufacturing and implementing communities.
