BHEL to set-up power plant in Vizag

BHEL has signed a contract with Abhijeet Projects Limited (APL), an Independent Power Producer (IPP) for setting up a 300 MW thermal power plant in Visakhapatnam. Valued at Rs.6,300 Million, the contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of boilers, steam turbines and turbo-generators along with state-of-the-art controls and instrumentation (C&I) and other associated auxiliaries for APL’s 1×300 MW thermal power plant in Visakhapatnam. For the same customer, BHEL is already executing a contract for supply and installation of the main plant package for Phase-I (2×270 MW) and Phase-II (2×270 MW) for their upcoming coal-based Matrishri Usha Jayaswal Mega Power Plant, located at Latehar district of Jharkhand, near Ranchi.
