Mr. Shirish S Garud, is a Consultant and Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute, TERI, Delhi. He has more than three decades of experience in the renewable energy sector. He is a well-known specialist in renewable energy technologies, solar, wind, energy planning and renewable energy policy studies. He has been on experts’ panels on National Television Channels and important forums. He is also a member of the Technical Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards, BIS, for solar thermal and wind. He was instrumental in commercialising solar selective coating technology developed by National Aeronautical Laboratories, Bangalore. His current research interests include hydrogen economy, RE applications, RE road maps and island and rural electrification studies. He has master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, IIT-B, and Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from University of Poona, Pune. He is a passionate clean energy expert and loves being with nature, trekking and travelling.
