March 6, 2024 2:04 pm

India is rising as a formidable global renewable energy player, securing the third position in production and generating 40 percent of its electricity from non-fossil fuels. Boasting an influx of over $10 billion in investments, the nation anticipates attracting a staggering $250 billion. This substantial financial backing signifies India’s commitment to transitioning from coal reliance to embracing solar, wind, hydropower, nuclear and biomass.

With a set target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030, the nation prioritises job creation, emissions reduction, and a cleaner energy shift, relying on coherent policies, supportive administrations, and an investor-friendly environment to solidify its bid for global leadership in sustainable energy.

On this note, EPR is hosting a Live Power Talk on ‘India to become $250 bn RE powerhouse’ on January 23, 04:00 PM onwards. Industry experts will delve into the current landscape, exploring investment opportunities and examining how technology continues to rejuvenate the renewable power sector.
