Gautam Solar revolutionises solar technology with next-gen N-type TOPCon panels

Leading innovation in solar power at Intersolar Europe 2024, Munich, featuring high-efficiency, bifacial panels of up to 22.84 percent efficiency.

Gautam Solar, a leader in Indian solar panel manufacturing, will debut its next-generation N-type TOPCon solar panels at Intersolar Europe 2024 in Munich, Germany, from June 19th to 21st, 2024.

The latest line of solar panels by Gautam Solar ranges from 580 Wp to 590 Wp in power output, featuring 144 half-cut cells with a maximum efficiency of up to 22.84 percent. Visitors to Messe München Centre can explore these cutting-edge solar panels at Booth No. A1.509.

These high-efficiency solar panels combine pioneering German technology (initially developed by Fraunhofer ISE) with state-of-the-art manufacturing at Gautam Solar’s facilities in India. They are particularly suited for developers and EPC companies involved in commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility-scale projects.

Measuring 2278 mm × 1134 mm × 35 mm, these bifacial panels generate additional power from their rear side—between 10 percent to 30 percent depending on installation and weather conditions—compared to monofacial panels. With PERC technology nearing its efficiency limits, the adoption of TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technology allows Gautam Solar’s panels to achieve efficiencies surpassing 22 percent.

Gautam Mohanka, CEO of Gautam Solar explains the advantages of Glass-to-Glass configuration over Glass-to-Backsheet configuration, “Using G2G structure allows us to provide 30 years performance warranty over the standard 25 years warranty for G2B panels. G2G structure with 2.0 mm glass on both sides provides much better mechanical load handling and abrasion resistance, prevents formation of micro-cracks, and protects cells from degradation caused by moisture, salt mist, and PID.”

He adds, “Our latest Solar Panel is ideal for the European Market, where the weather gets really harsh for significant time periods, with many regions experiencing heavy snowfall in winters and high wind speeds. Our panels which are certified as per European (EN/CE) and other Global Standards (UL and IEC), make for a perfect fit for developers and EPC companies that are looking to move away from cheap Chinese Solar Panels, which are flooding the market.”
