Sources of power generation range from conventional sources such as coal, lignite, natural gas, oil, hydro and nuclear power to viable non-conventional sources such as wind, solar, and agricultural and domestic waste. Electricity demand in the country has increased rapidly and is expected to rise further in the years to come. In order to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the country, massive addition to the installed generating capacity is required. In India, the demand for electricity has always been more than the supply. The importance of electricity as a prime driver of growth is very well acknowledged in order to boost the development of power system. In this rapidly changing scenario diesel generators have come to play an important role of providing power surety. India as a country is on a fast track to growth; however, its power concerns are still real. This is where diesel generators bring in on demand electricity to power India’s raising dreams and aspirations.
