Neil Savant, Managing Director, IntuitThings
IntuitThings is a brand of home or office automation systems created by Falcon Control Systems and Automation Pvt Ltd – an emerging technology driven start-up looking to change the way world’s outlook towards India in terms of in-house intelligent control system producing nation.
Falcon was founded in July 2014 by Neil Savant who is an alumnus of Ohio State University. Neil previously worked in the US for 4 years with Navistar and Cummins in advanced controls and diagnostics and held various engineering and management positions. Now, he is back in India to be a part of the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Range of products Falcon has invented and developed are smart switches (IntuitSwitches), IR blaster with temperature or humidity sensing, door sensor, motion sensor, curtain motor control and a central gateway which work with an Android/IOS mobile application as well as a web platform not just from inside the home or office but from anywhere in the world.
This game changing hardware for home and office automation is aimed at solving installation related problems which has shunted the speed of acceptance of such systems, Neil claims. He adds, “Existing automation solutions in the market need either civil work or rewiring and in some cases both which makes installation a cumbersome, messy and a costly affair. Falcon’s hardware eliminates need of rewiring and civil work as the existing switches just need to be replaced by the IntuitSwitches in the existing switchboards with the same line-neutral-earthing-load wiring. This makes the system truly DIY and cost-effective and any local electrician can install the system.”
Promising marketAccording to Neil, “The potential market size for home and office automation products is of Rs 4,000 crore and it is growing at 30 per cent CAGR targeted in Asian and European countries. Falcon is poised to make home and commercial spaces automation accepted widely in India with its innovative and game changing designs and aims at having over 4,000 installations pan India by end of 2017.”
The company plans to operate in B2B segment targeting at SMB companies, corporate, government and builders and in B2C segment targeting at general public through nationwide distributor network. It is also exploring tying up with switch brands for supplying them with the product as an OEM.
Milestones and roadmapTalking about milestones, Falcon has completed their prototype in September 2015, beta testing in February this year and launched product in August. Currently the company has multiple existing and new customers and is in the process of developing the all-India distributor network.
The company is now looking for series A funding for scaling up operations as well as marketing the products pan India through print, ad and digital media. Falcon is determined to make its mark in the global market in the years to come.
