Havells has been a household name for electrical products. How has the company evolved?

Havells started with traditional products like switchgear, wires, and cables, which formed the foundation of the brand. Over time, we expanded into lighting, fans, and several other product categories. Today, our portfolio covers approximately 75 percent of all socket points inside a house. We have always focused on innovation and meeting consumer demands with high-quality, reliable products.

Innovation is a core aspect of our operations. We invest 2-3 percent of our turnover into research and development. With a team of over 1,000 engineers, postgraduates, and PhDs, our R&D division continuously works on developing new products for homes, commercial offices, industries and infrastructure. We aim to enhance our offerings and introduce state-of-the-art solutions to the market.

What new products and innovations are Havells introducing across its product ranges?

We are introducing multiple products across different categories. In switchgear, we have a new range of ACB and MCCB. Our control gear and power quality portfolio have also been upgraded. We are launching high-capacity GTI  invertor of 350kW. Additionally, our motor division is introducing smoke extraction and flame-proof motors.

We are introducing three major innovations in our MCB portfolio. The first is the AFDD protection device designed to prevent electrical fires and ensure safety. Second, we are launching beautifully designed glass door distribution boards that combine aesthetics with functionality. Lastly, we are showcasing our solid-state breaking technology, which enables switching operations 1,000 times faster than traditional breakers.

In the electrical wiring devices category  we have introduced the premium switch range-Apogee. This exquisite collection is designed to elevate your living space with its sophisticated aesthetics, innovative features, and advanced technology. As power consumption increases due to economic growth, the demand for advanced switchgear is rising. We continue to enhance our products with cutting-edge technology to stay ahead in the market and ensure safety and reliability.

Expansion is a continuous process for us. Every year, we allocate significant capital expenditure toward enhancing manufacturing capacities, upgrading product portfolios, and investing in R&D.
