Kusam Electrical is currently focusing on several new products, like power transmitters for ACU meters, AC and DC circuits, and earth resistance testers clusters that are primarily suitable for 3 pole, 4 pole, and clamp-on types. So, these products are a combination of all these product aspects.

At ELECRAMA, we displayed all these products, including our thermal imaging cameras, intrinsically safe multimeters, clamp meters, earth resistance testers, and infrared cameras that are used while operating in hazardous areas. We are also introducing products like micro ohm metres and milli ohm meters.

How are these advanced solutions helping you add efficiency to the power distribution sector?

By monitoring the correct values, they can improve the efficiency of the power distribution. Efficient monitoring enables us to identify electricity leakages, plug the sink, improve efficiency, and stabilise revenues.

What measures are in place to ensure optimum safety through T&M solutions?

Our products are designed for high-safety use. For multimeters, we have the highest transient protection of up to 12 kVa, and it is available in the Indian market. And we are ensuring that the customer gets a safe instrument to use.

Please talk about your latest and upcoming innovations to stabilise the power supply. 

With efficient power supply monitoring, they can use better distribution methods so that people get a continuous supply for 24 hours without interruption.

How do you evaluate India’s energy transition towards smart electricity?

The constant increase in energy generation using conventional and non-conventional sources will continue to expand, as it is expected to be doubled by 2030 and twice as large by 2047. This development ensures the availability of an uninterrupted power supply. The government should take additional steps to make it a reality in India.

What are the challenges associated with it?

On the one hand, we will increase capacity, but the benefit will only be counted if the transmission and distribution capacities are at the same intensity. But it is possible only with sufficient and efficient infrastructure to generate, transmit, and distribute high power to the end customer.

How do you look at the demand for T&M products in the power market?

As the power demand increases, the T & M demand will increase in the same ratio, or even more. We at Kusam Electricals are gradually moving towards smart instruments using artificial intelligence. We are well-positioned to cope with the innovative demands of the power sector.

Currently, Kusam Electricals holds a market share of around 10 percent, and we intend to expand our outreach and our footprint in the power and electricity market in the coming years.
